The YMCA of Rock River Valley is pleased to announce Michelle Gorham, CFRE, has joined the association in the role of Chief Advancement Officer.
Gorham will lead the Y’s efforts to raise funds and advance its mission to serve our community.
Gorham has worked in the non-profit sector for nearly 25 years holding positions at Rosecrance, United Way of Rock River Valley, and, for the past 10 years, at Rockford Health System where she has been director of the Rockford Memorial Development Foundation since 2013. She became a Certified Fund Raising Professional in 2006.
Gorham is Rockford-born and raised and is a product of the Rockford Public Schools, having graduated from Auburn High School. She attended Northern Illinois University where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Communications and a Master’s Degree in Public Health.
“We are thrilled Michelle is bringing her expertise in fund development and mission advancement to the YMCA,” said Mike Brown, CEO & President, YMCA of Rock River Valley. “We have a vision to expand our reach regionally to serve more people, but we need community support to do that. Michelle will help us create and execute this strategy.”
Gorham is on the board of the local chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the board of Golden Apple Foundation. She also sits on the board of the NIU Rockford Alumni Club.
