“You’re Hired,” two words the finalists of the YMCA Intern Challenge hope they hear next week as the YMCA of Rock River Valley hosts the final boardroom of the 7-week competition.
The interns have worked with the Goldie Floberg Center, BMO Harris Bank, University of Illinois College of Medicine, Zenith Land Holdings, Fuelz, I.D. Pennock Family YMCA, Illinois Bank and Trust, Park Lanes Bowling Alley and Rockford Public Schools. They have created marketing plans, brand awareness campaigns, event proposals, sales strategies and more on a variety of topics geared towards each business’ needs.
The winning intern will receive a $1,500 college scholarship and a paid internship with the YMCA worth up to $5,000. Second place receives a $1,000 college scholarship and third place receives a $500 college scholarship.
The community is invited to the final boardroom of the competition to find out who is named the winner of the YMCA Intern Challenge.
The final boardroom will be held Thursday, August 4, 2016 from 11:00am-1pm. We will gather at 11 and the event will begin at 11:30. It will take place at Veterans Memorial Hall, 211 North Main Street, Rockford, IL 61101. Ticket to the event are free, but you must reserve your seat in advance at
