The YMCA of Rock River Valley is excited to announce ABC News Anchor and TV Host John Quiñones will be the featured speaker at its annual Community Dinner presented by Illinois Bank & Trust on March 1, 2018.
Quiñones is the anchor of "What Would You Do?," one of the highest-rated newsmagazine franchises of recent years. The hidden camera, ethical dilemma show has made Quiñones the face of doing the right thing to millions of fans. During his 35-year tenure at ABC News, he has reported extensively for all programs and platforms and served as anchor of "Primetime." Combining a moving life story, an exceptional career, incomparable insights and a powerful presence, Quiñones will deliver a message of believing in one’s self, never giving up and always doing the right thing.
“We believe now is the perfect time to explore the choices we make in our community and how doing the right thing will make a better us,” said Michelle Gorham, Chief Advancement Officer, YMCA of Rock River Valley. “At a time when people are hungry for ways to come together, we want to use this opportunity to remind our community what “us” means and why it’s important. We believe Mr. Quiñones will inspire us and leave us with a sense of hope and purpose.”
The dinner also offers two scholarship opportunities for individuals pursuing a college education. The Antonio Little Teen Leadership Award will provide a $1,000 scholarship to a local teen. Additionally, the Y and Judson University will award a 2-year, fully funded scholarship in the adult professional program. Visit www.rockriverymca.org/communitydinner
