February 20 RMC Program
Log Lodge, 1pm
Our featured speaker will be Jake Castanza, Executive Director of Project First Rate.
Apprenticeships versus college. The following statements were made by Jake in his February 20, 2017 article in the Rockford Register Star. "Millennials are: Graduating from college with more student loan debt than the baby boomer generation, are earning less income than the boomers did at the same age, are less likely to own a home, and 1 in 3 are still living with their parents. With the looming skills gap within the next five years and the increasing trends in the construction market, a major hole in the construction labor market will occur that will need to be filled by millennials." Jake will discuss the value of apprenticeships for this generation.
