For a Better Us Video

All people deserve the experience of being included. Trying new things. Sharing laughs. Honing a skill. Connecting without Wifi. And, feeling like they have a home away from home. The Y is that place for many people.

The Y’s tagline is: For a Better Us. But, what is Us? Us is…a promise to strengthen kids, families, adults and seniors with programs that protect, teach, connect, heal, nourish and encourage. It’s how we help communities and the “us” who live in them realize their possibilities. We can’t do it alone. We know that when we come together For a Better Us - that is empowering.

Good to be Alive - YMCA

YMCA of Rock River Valley

CEO Mike Brown performs Andy Grammer's "It's Good to be Alive." The Y unveiled this video at its 2016 Community Dinner. The YMCA of Rock River Valley certainly believes it's a good time to be alive right now. Brown laid out his vision to expand our reach to communities who don't have access to Y services. It starts with the announcement of the new Puri Family YMCA serving Southeast Rockford and Cherry Valley. We have our sights set on Southwest Rockford, Winnebago and communities to the West and Machesney Park and communities to the North. We know that when people have access to needed programs and services they live fuller lives. They are empowered to make change. They have hope.
