Camp Days

When school’s out, Camp is in! The YMCA of Rock River Valley provides a safe and fun environment for children when school is not in session. Camp Days offered align with days off of school for the Harlem and Rockford Public School Districts. 

The YMCA of Rock River Valley provides a safe and fun environment for children when school is not in session. Camp Days are offered at Camp Winnebago YMCA, SwedishAmerican Riverfront YMCA, and Northeast Family YMCA. Camp Days programming is staffed by Summer Camp and Kids’ Time After School Staff.

While Camp Days programming is aligned with Harlem School District and Rockford Public School District schedules, we do welcome students from other schools if they are off on the below dates. Northeast Family Y will only host on Harlem days out, SwedishAmerican Riverfront Y will only host on RPS days out, and Camp Winnebago will be open on all dates.

Member Fee: $30 per day
Program Member Fee: $40 per day

Looking for an exciting new experience for your camper during winter break? Join the incredible staff at Camp Winnebago YMCA to rekindle summer relationships, explore a new perspective of Camp, or experience Camp for the first time! We engage in classic camp activities with a winter twist; including fort building, crafts, archery, snow shoeing, sledding, black hole slide, hot chocolate, and even an overnight!

$150/wk for Y members; $165/wk for program members

Join us for a fun-filled winter break! Winter Break Camp at the branches is offered at the SwedishAmerican Riverfront YMCA and the Northeast Family YMCA during RPS 205 and Harlem District break weeks. Camp Winnebago is excited to revive the spirit of camp during Spring Break! Explore the fascinations of new life that spring brings to Camp Winnebago's 120 acres of forest, marshes, natural springs and creeks. Campers will enjoy the energy of their favorite summer camp counselors while participating in classic camp activities: archery, black hole slide, nitro, climbing wall, challenge course elements, crafts and so much more!

Financial Assistance

At the YMCA, we believe no family should be denied access to our child care programs based on the ability to pay. Two forms of financial assistance are available:

  • The Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP)

  • YMCA scholarships

If you're interested in either of these options or are already utilizing CCAP, please register for the program and then email us at assistance@rockriverymca.org to ensure assistance is applied.

Special Note:
Camp Days programming includes outdoor activities. Be sure that your camper is prepared for the outdoors by sending them with weather-appropriate clothing; including clothes and shoes that are okay to get dirty.
