YMCA To Launch Emerging Leaders Summer Challenge
The YMCA of Rock River Valley aims to help young men level up their leadership skills this summer. After a successful two years, the Y is bringing back the Emerging Leaders Challenge for young men who are entering grades 9-12. The goal of the challenge is to create an environment to gain hands-on professional experience in executive leadership, marketing, finance, fund development and human resources.

YMCA Receives $25,000 Grant from Derry Family Foundation
The YMCA of Rock River Valley is proud to announce a $25,000 grant from the Derry Family Foundation to expand literacy programming for youth across the greater Rockford region. This investment will support the addition of a sixth literacy instructor, enabling the Y to provide structured literacy instruction to an additional 60 youth each week through its Kids’ Time Before and After School program. YMCA Retired Men’s Club Presents Grants
The YMCA of Rock River Valley Retired Men’s Club will donate $9,000 toward YMCA programs for youth and families. The Club donates the money they raise at their annual Christmas Tree Sale, which is held each year at Highcrest Shopping Center.
