Hannah’s career is focused on helping women who suffer from eating disorders. Back in 2011, she had a rude awakening as a parent brought her daughter to Hannah’s employer for services. Hannah shares, “The mom took one look at me – standing at 5’4”, 309 pounds – and said, ‘you’re going to help my daughter overcome her eating disorder?' I wanted to lose weight because I was a walking billboard for my problem. I set out on a journey that started with the Y and today I’m proud of what I have achieved.” Hannah has lost 150 pounds and is now supporting her sister Emily on her health journey.
12 years ago, Jamie was in a tragic car accident that left her practically immobilized. After starting her recovery at the YMCA, she began to discover the beauty behind the community the Y had to offer. She is now a consistent volunteer at the I.D. Pennock Family YMCA and a living testament to the notion that when you work hard to achieve a goal, nothing can stop you.
